Six months ago, we were living in Canada with three kids — the youngest now just ten months old — two demanding careers, and absolutely no plan to become estate agents. Adam was fifteen years deep into operations, running multi-unit franchise businesses. Melissa was over a decade into customer success and operations, mostly in fast-moving SaaS companies.
We also happened to be good at moving house. Genuinely good — we bought and sold three homes in Canada, each one within 45 days. No drama, no chasing, no wondering what was happening behind the scenes. It was, honestly, easy.
Then we moved to the UK with a ten-month-old, and tried to let a home here.
It wasn’t easy. And somewhere in the middle of that — the slow replies, the process that felt like it was happening to us rather than for us — we had the same thought, separately, before we ever said it out loud to each other: this could be so much better. We know it can, because we’ve done it better.
What we actually do differently
We’re not reinventing estate agency. We’re just refusing to accept the parts of it that have quietly become normal — the silences, the sense that you’re a file number rather than a person mid-way through a genuinely stressful moment.
Our whole operating promise is simple: every message gets answered the day it’s sent, by one of us personally. Not a rota. Not whoever’s free. One of us — because we’re the ones who negotiated it, valued it, and know exactly where things stand.
We also film everything. A proper walkthrough, not a slideshow. If you’re selling, that means your home gets shown the way it actually feels to stand in.
Where we actually work
Home is Wandsworth Riverside — specifically The Tonsleys, a few minutes from Old York Road and the river. We didn’t pick this as a marketing territory; we picked it because it’s where we live, and it’s grown out from there — along the river to Putney, and south to Wimbledon. If we recommend a street, it’s because we’ve walked it, usually with a buggy.
Backed, but not run from a distance
We operate as an independent agent team, powered by Keller Williams UK — the platform, training and systems of a serious operation, while every decision about how we actually treat clients stays entirely local, made by us.
So why did we move 5,000 miles to do this?
Because we already knew what “easy” looked like — we’d done it three times. We just had to prove it could work here too.
